Coal miner.
Mentioned in a paragraph about his son William in History of Allegheny
County, pp. 580-581:
"In 1860 the family came to America, and located for a time in
Coultersville, this county. The father was a coal-miner all his life, and
was employed at Saw-Mill Run and Turtle Creek, coming to the latter place
in 1872. For a short time in 1880 he was employed in Clearfield county,
and died in November of that year, at the age of fifty-six years, from
injuries inflicted by a kicking mule.
